Overview
Since 1972, Covenant House has served and advocated for youth and young families experiencing homelessness, human trafficking, and exploitation. Our overarching goal is to end homelessness among youth and young families by helping them achieve housing stability, heal from trauma, tap into their innate resilience, and hone their interests and skills to forge new pathways to independence. This work is carried out across Covenant House sites in 34 cities in the US, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras.
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated IT Specialist to join our team in the United States. This role is vital in maintaining and enhancing our technical infrastructure to ensure seamless support for our programs and services aimed at helping youth in need. Based in the US, you will contribute to our mission by providing expert technical assistance and support.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Manage computer systems and ensure optimal performance across all devices.
- Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of network infrastructure including LAN, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Assist with desktop support for staff, including operating systems like Windows and macOS.
- Maintain IT documentation using tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and BMC Remedy.
- Collaborate with teams to improve IT infrastructure and implement new technologies.
- Ensure data security and compliance with organizational policies.
- Deliver excellent customer service to staff and stakeholders.’
Qualifications: Proven experience in IT support or a similar role. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking (LAN), operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and security protocols.*
- Familiarity with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues efficiently.
- Knowledge of firewall management, VPNs, and general IT infrastructure.
- Prior experience working in a nonprofit or youth-focused organization is a plus.’},{
