The youth engagement specialist role is critical to the success of our mission and directly interfaces with youth to provide direct, supportive, individualized care in a positive and holistic way to youth accessing services in the Safe Haven Residential Program.

The ECPM is responsible for overseeing CHPA’s annual portfolio of fundraising and stewardship events to meet revenue goals and deepen donor engagement.

The primary focus of this role is the growth and execution of Sleep Out and other major fundraising events throughout the year, including third-party fundraisers and cultivation gatherings. This includes leading peer-to-peer (P2P) fundraising strategy, participant engagement, and revenue optimization.

Secondarily, this role will lead community outreach strategy to expand engagement pipelines across corporate, civic, and faith-based communities—building pathways from initial engagement to sustained philanthropic support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Lead the planning and execution of CHPA’s signature Sleep Out events and additional fundraising events organized by CHPA and our community partners.
  • Develop and manage event revenue goals, budgets, and KPIs in partnership with the Development Operations Director and Chief Development Officer.
  • Develop and implement peer-to-peer fundraising strategies, including participant segmentation, goal-setting, and performance tracking to maximize individual and team outcomes.
  • Serve as a fundraising coach to participants, providing tools, messaging, and direct support to help individuals meet and exceed fundraising goals.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of high-performing participants, team captains, and corporate teams, with strategies to retain, upgrade, and re-engage year over year.
  • Identify strategies to increase participate recruitment and cultivate mid to high level P2P donors and participants ($1,000–$5,000+) as part of CHPA’s broader fundraising strategy to boost performance, sponsorship revenue, and retention.
  • Monitor and control event expenses to maximize net revenue.
  • Partner with the Development team to ensure marketing, digital fundraising assets, and sponsor deliverables are executed effectively.
  • Lead post-event analysis, reporting on ROI, retention metrics, and growth opportunities.

Event Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Oversee end-to-end event logistics, including venue coordination, vendor management, production timelines, staffing plans, and on-site execution.
  • Create detailed project timelines, run-of-show documents, vendor contracts, and logistics plans.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, consultants, and event partners, including contract negotiation and compliance.
  • Ensure all permits, insurance (COIs), and regulatory requirements are secured and compliant.
  • Lead event-day execution, including setup, run-of-show management, troubleshooting, and breakdown.
  • Oversee event production elements including A/V, staging, catering, signage, and overall participant experience design.
  • Manage in-kind donations and vendor contributions to offset event costs and increase net revenue.

Corporate & Community Engagement

  • Support corporate engagement efforts by coordinating sponsor activation and on-site experiences at events.
  • Partner with Development leadership to identify, qualify, and cultivate corporate partners and sponsors through events and engagement opportunities.
  • Support moves management strategies for event-related donors and partners, contributing to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
  • Manage corporate volunteer days in partnership with Program teams.
  • Represent CHPA at community meetings, networking events, and outreach opportunities to expand awareness and partnerships, especially among corporate, civic and faith-based constituents.
  • Develop structured volunteer engagement pathways that connect service to deeper philanthropic involvement.
  • Support engagement of affinity groups (e.g., Young Professionals Board, Junior Program Board, Women’s Networks, LGBTQ+ Affinity Groups, etc.) in event participation and corporate volunteer initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Programs to develop and continually fine-tune meaningful corporate engagement opportunities that benefit youth and strengthen community investment.

Planning & Collaboration

  • Track event revenue, participant metrics, sponsorship fulfillment, and volunteer engagement in CRM.
  • Maintain and oversee an internal events calendar to ensure alignment and proactive planning across departments.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and reporting across CRM and event platforms, including donor engagement and revenue attribution
  • Lead post-event reconciliation processes in partnership with Finance and Development Operations.
  • Collect and analyze participant, sponsor, and attendee feedback to continuously improve event strategy and experience.
  • Prepare regular reports on event performance and community engagement outcomes.
  • Work cross-functionally with Development, Programs, Finance, and People & Culture to ensure alignment and execution excellence.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

You are an excellent fit for this role if you:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, hospitality, or related field.
  • Have five (5) or more years of progressive event management experience with demonstrated fundraising results.
  • Have successfully managed peer-to-peer fundraising events or revenue-generating nonprofit events.
  • Have experience with peer-to-peer fundraising platforms (e.g., DonorDrive or similar).
  • Are highly organized and able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Have strong financial acumen and experience managing event budgets.
  • Can analyze fundraising data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Are an excellent communicator and relationship builder.
  • Are comfortable working evenings and weekends as needed for events.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office and donor CRM systems (EveryAction or similar preferred).
  • Have a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and ability to travel locally between Philadelphia and York as needed.

  • Have led a peer-to-peer event generating $500,000+ annually.
  • Have experience scaling a Sleep Out–style or endurance-based fundraising event.
  • Have directly managed participant portfolios or donor relationships tied to fundraising events.
  • Have experience executing large-scale, multi-channel campaigns (in-person + digital + peer-to-peer integration).
  • Are familiar with the Greater Philadelphia and Central Pennsylvania corporate and civic landscape.
  • Have experience working in human services or mission-driven nonprofit organizations.
  • Bring innovative ideas for hybrid fundraising, digital engagement, and experiential donor events.

Pay: $85,000.00 – $88,000.00 per year
