On March 24, 2017, Covenant House Pennsylvania held its 3rd Annual Sleep Out: Young Professional Edition. 143 sleepers raised an astonishing $146,245 and counting for runaway, homeless, and trafficked youth throughout the Philadelphia region.

Both the total number of Sleepers and money raised smashed last years' results. Our event this year was hosted at the Friends Center in Center City because we have simply outgrown our space at our shelter. Our event keeps getting bigger and better each year with a larger impact on the lives of our youth!

Our event would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our Associate Board who throughout the year pulled together to make this event what it is. This year we were fortunate to have Councilwoman Helen Gym address our sleepers and Councilman Mark Squilla attend and support our event. It was great to have their support that evening.

Mike Giangiordano, one of our Associate Board members, got to expereince his first Sleep Out this year. "I loved the sleepout because it made me realize how lucky I am. I am very thankful and blessed to help do my part to bring an end to youth homelessness." This sentiment was common among the sleepers, both veterans and newcomers alike.

If you are a Young Professional and want to join our Associate Board or wish be added to our Young Professional Network please contact Brittany Diaz, Development Associate, at  [email protected] to find out how you can make a difference in the lives of our youth through service, networking and fundraising. We want to see you out there with us next year!
